The 2019 AAFM Fall Conference will be held in beautiful Orange Beach, AL on October 28th to 30th. This year’s conference will be held ON THE BEACH at the Island House Hotel in the heart of Orange Beach. A full line up of speakers from industry, academia, government, and more will be on hand. Additionally, lunch will be provided on Tuesday and dinner/socials will be held on Monday and Tuesday Nights. We look forward to a great conference and wonderful beachfront amenities. For those interested, the CFM exam and review course will be offered in conjunction with this year’s conference. We will offer 12 credits for CEUs for engineers/CFMs. Stay tuned for detailed agenda and more!

Elevation Certificate Basics Workshop

Workshop Description:
Detailed training on completing a FEMA Elevation Certificate (EC) accurately and in its entirety, allowing full compliance with any program that requires submission of an EC. A review of all EC section and guidance will be provided on implementation and use. Discussion will cover EC requirements for surveying, foundation flood openings, certification, and the requirements for an EC under a variety of programs including the Community Rating System (CRS).
Training will identify the portions of the EC instructions that should not be used in order to achieve full compliance with all programs and include common errors and omissions. A detailed review of the various EC building diagrams along with real-world examples. Learn how to avoid errors that commonly affect floodplain management programs including mandatory CRS EC prerequisite.
Target Audience:
Professional Land Surveyors, Certified Floodplain Managers (CFM), community officials with floodplain management experience that review construction permits.
